Give me a break! How does it "silence the truth" to say NO to bullying, name-calling and violence against gay kids? I echo Shawn's question: "Where’s the church's response to the hate going on in schools, especially towards gay students? Granted, there’s the Golden Rule … but why has it taken so long for the Golden Rule of CHRIST to peek it’s head? Why weren’t Christians the first to respond to this crisis … why are we always the last ones to show up? I am afraid that they are the last to show up because they are afraid -- fearful that people will think they are "pro-gay" if they are anti-hate. Some students are planning to do both - remain silent and pass out pledges to abide the Golden Rule. My prayer is that the heart of Christ for reconciliation will be clear.
