Confession of Faith
six11 Ministries believes:
In God, the Father Almighty
The Creator of heaven and earth
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord
(Genesis 1:1; John 3:16; Acts 17:24-25; Colossians 1:15-17)
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit
Born of the Virgin Mary
Suffered under Pontius Pilate
Was crucified, died, and was buried
(Luke 1:26-35, 23:20-25, 46-56; Ephesians 1:3-8; Colossians 1:22)
The third day He arose again from the dead
(1 Corinthians 15:3-8)
He ascended into heaven
And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
Whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead
(Acts 1:9-11; Luke 22:69-70; 1 Peter 4:6; 1 Timothy 4:16; 2 Timothy 2:15, 4:1)
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Church
The communion of saints
The forgiveness of sins
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting, Amen
(Ephesians 1:7-8, 2:19-22, 4:1-6, 12, 15-16; Colossians 1:21-23; 1 John 1:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22; John 11:25-26)
We believe in the salvation that comes from CHRIST, “for it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of GOD – not by works, so that no one can boast”. And in this saving transformation, we are to bear eternal fruit that gives an outward witness of CHRIST and the work of HIM within us.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; John 15:5; James 2:17)
We believe these things, because we have seen the active power of GOD within our lives and the lives of those HE has “washed … sanctified … justified in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and by the Spirit”.
(1 Corinthians 6:11)
We also hold to these truths because we believe that “all scripture is GOD-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the [people] of GOD may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”. Holding to the truth that JESUS is the Word made flesh, we believe that the Word is “the same yesterday, today, and forever” and is therefore also “the way, the truth, and the life” for all who claim to live in CHRIST JESUS.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12, 13:8; John 1:14, 14:6)
