Kevin Breel: Confessions of a Depressed Comic

I have spoken a few times about depression – a world I know all too well – here, here, here, and here.

I can truly sympathize with Kevin, and others, about depression. What Kevin shares about depression hits home. He says that depression is more than just being sad when something in life goes wrong. That’s not real depression, he says. Real depression is when you’re sad when everything in your life is going right.

He calls for people to be more open in regards to talking about depression. He calls out culture for shrugging their shoulders and hiding away the reality of depression. He calls for vulnerability within our communities. He reminds those who are depressed, that we are not weak or a disease to ignore, but a strong people who have a lot to offer this world.
